Frogs and frocks

I went to an art class this weekend.  God it felt good to be drawing again.  I love loosing myself for a few hours.  I’d been looking forward to it for ages.  Taught by my very talented friend Tracy.  Costumes in watercolour and ink… it was good to get the grey matter going and get lost in the magic scenes and get lost in the atmospheric music (I’d highly recommend Tracy’s classes!) the model Ruby Tingle looked stunning in her striking outfits!

Here’s what I came up with…

When I got home I had a go at a couple digital work from the picture I took…

Can’t wait to get to my studio and do some more.  Must make a trip to Turners for some new supplies πŸ˜‰

Will let you know what I come up with! X

Art, friends & exhibitions

It’s been a pretty great (and busy) weekend! I’ve spent most of it in New Mills at The Studios. I wanted to see #theredcase Drink and Draw exhibition for one last time! It’s awesome – I helped Andrea set it up for the preview night (on 15th Jan)… after numerous cups of tea cake and chocolate (we needed it for energy πŸ˜‰) the exhibition was ready to rock and roll!Β

I’m so glad Andrea opened up The Studios on Saturday. There were lots of people coming to see, it was great to slow down and take in everyone’s amazing work – reliving the story again. Β Even Jassy and her friend Velvet had a great time πŸ™‚

I was lucky enough to sell 3 of my illustrations at the exhibition and it’s really spurred me on for a great year for art – you just have to keep practicing and getting your cogs wurring πŸ™‚

Can’t tell you how excited I am about #thelinks starting in February πŸ˜‰

Edna you twisty minx…

Last Friday was the latest instalment of #theredcase Drink And Draw πŸ™‚ I look forward to it every month… This time we saw Edna the house cleaner… Oh but she was so much more than that…

A transformation from her house cleaner disguise to vampy vintage godess! Oh that Red Case!

Roll on October! πŸ˜‰

A vintage discovery

I’d heard about the Vintage Emporium in Pear Mill through a friend.  Today was the first time I went to visit… I’m in love! What can I say? πŸ™‚ beautiful vintage clothes, shoes, furniture, cups and much, much more! … I could have spent hours in there πŸ™‚

I thought it would be a good idea to take a few pictures as I walked round exploring.

Tonight sat in the living room surrounded by my paints and pens, I’ve started to draw some of the things I saw… Here’s what I’ve painted so far…
